My Holiday Look

Welcome to Look Thursday! Today I used my Makeup Geek Ultimate Palette to put together a look perfect for Christmas.

Since I spend Christmas with my family, I wanted to do something a little more subtle than the sparkly traditional gold, red and/or greens looks that are normally used to represent this holiday. So I decided to go with purples on my lid and nude lips. I did add just a bit of sparkle to my inner corner (hey, it is Christmas after all) and used Milani’s Black Vinyl liner to spice it up a bit.

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: Makeup Geek eye shadows in Beaches and Cream, Cocoa Bear, Prom Night, Unexpected, Sensuous, Drama Queen, Wet n’ Wild Fergie eye shadow primer in (), Milani liquid liner in Black Vinyl, Urban Decay 24/7 Eye pencil in Zero, Wet n’ Wild Megalength waterproof mascara
  • Brows: Jordana eye brown pencil in Dark Brown
  • Face: Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer (check out my review here), MAC Matchmaster Foundation shade 7.5, L.A. Girl Pro.conceal HD concealer in Fawn, Rudy Kisses mineral powder in Chestnut, Black Radiance pressed powder in Rich Mahogany as a light contour, Iman Sheer Finish bronzing powder in Afterglow as a highlight, and e.l.f. cosmetics makeup setting spray
  • Lips: Nyx lip primer in Deep Nude, Nyx lip pencil in Chestnut, and Wet n’ Wild LE matte lipstick in Sweet Cream
christmas
I used: Sensuous on the lid, Drama Queen in the crease/outer corner, Unexpected as a transition color, Prom Night in the inner corner, and I mixed Cocoa Bear with Beaches and Cream on the browbone.

Review: Fergie Centerstage Collection Photo Op Eyeshadow Desert Festival

desert festival

Hello Beauties! Today I have a review of the Desert Festival palette from the Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection.  This palette contains five eyeshadows.  In the upper left corner, there is a sparkly beige; in the upper right corner, a bright red orange; the bottom right corner,  a dark brown with golden glitter; in the bottom left corner,  a light orange with golden glitter; and in the center,  a chocolate brown.

I was very pleased with the colors in this palette.  The color pay off was very good with each shade.  I was surprised to find that the glitter in the eyeshadow in this palette actually transferred to the eye, unlike the Dutchess Lounge palette.  Overall, I think this palette is wonderful for a neutral look or a bright fun look.

Wet n Wild Fergie Photo Op Eyeshadow

Hello Beauties! Today I am reviewing one of the eyeshadow palettes from Wet n Wild’s Fergie Centerstage Collection. I picked up two eyeshadow palettes, three lipsticks, the eyeshadow primer, and one of the shimmer palettes. I usually review products of the same collection all together, but I wanted to give each item the attention that it deserves.

Each Fergie Centerstage Eyeshadow palette contains five colors. The Dutchess Lounge palette contains a matte purple, a silver, a black with purple glitter, a black with silver glitter, and a deep brownish purple color with multi colored glitter.

Over all, this palette was disappointing. It is definitely not of the same quality that I have come to know and expect from Wet n Wild products. I had to layer the purple on in order for it to show. When using the glittery shadows, I ended up with very little glitter on my eyelid and tons of glitter on my face. The most disappointing color of the palette was the completely sheer silver. Ultimately, I suggest that you leave this palette at the store!

Despite its dismal performance, I managed to put together a look using the purple and black with purple glitter and a few other products from the collection.

Miliani Powder Eyeshadow Palettes in Paint, Impressionist, and Abstract

Last year when the Milani Paint Palette first came out, I was wondering why everyone was making such a big fuss about it, and I didn’t get it when i had the chance.  I know what stopped me from buying it…I needed to know that this product was indeed brown girl friendly. I saw a few reviews on YouTube, but when I had the chance to check them out for myself this time I decided to. I figured if I didn’t like them I could always pass them on to a friend or family member. Well, it turns out that I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these palettes (especially Abstract)!!!
