Today I spent some time thinking about my inner creative self. What would I look like if I could dress however I desired; what would I do with my hair and my makeup? Using these thoughts I came up with one look that definitely expresses the inner me.
So the inner me would have bold hair and makeup. If I ever decide to change my place of employment, I will look for a place where I can express my creativity through my hair and makeup.
I absolutely love bright, bold colors and I would wear them everyday if I could. I prefer to make bold statements using my physical apperance. Are you able to express yourself on a daily basis? Do you ever feel like you just want to take the risk and express your creative inner self even if it doesn’t fit your work environment?
Here is my NYE 2014 Makeup look! I wanted to do something a little bolder than what I usually go for (and I’ve been dying to use this Inglot pigment). For this look I went with purple and rose gold eye shadows with a pink lip. Since it is New Year’s Eve, I used one of my favorite sparkly highlighters. You can find details and pictures below (reviews coming soon!).
If you prefer to not have such a sparkly look, you could just use the shadows without the pigment.
Since I wear glasses, I did not put on false lashes, but I feel false lashes would make this look even better!
I hope you enjoyed this look. I am looking forward to posting more in the New Year!
Welcome to Look Thursday! Today I used my Makeup Geek Ultimate Palette to put together a look perfect for Christmas.
Since I spend Christmas with my family, I wanted to do something a little more subtle than the sparkly traditional gold, red and/or greens looks that are normally used to represent this holiday. So I decided to go with purples on my lid and nude lips. I did add just a bit of sparkle to my inner corner (hey, it is Christmas after all) and used Milani’s Black Vinyl liner to spice it up a bit.
For this look I used:
Eyes: Makeup Geek eye shadows in Beaches and Cream, Cocoa Bear, Prom Night, Unexpected, Sensuous, Drama Queen, Wet n’ Wild Fergie eye shadow primer in (), Milani liquid liner in Black Vinyl, Urban Decay 24/7 Eye pencil in Zero, Wet n’ Wild Megalength waterproof mascara
Brows: Jordana eye brown pencil in Dark Brown
Face: Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer (check out my review here), MAC Matchmaster Foundation shade 7.5, L.A. Girl Pro.conceal HD concealer in Fawn, Rudy Kisses mineral powder in Chestnut, Black Radiance pressed powder in Rich Mahogany as a light contour, Iman Sheer Finish bronzing powder in Afterglow as a highlight, and e.l.f. cosmetics makeup setting spray
Lips: Nyx lip primer in Deep Nude, Nyx lip pencil in Chestnut, and Wet n’ Wild LE matte lipstick in Sweet Cream
I hope you have a wonderful and happy holiday season!
Did you miss out on the Wet n’ Wild Fall 2014 Limited Edition lipsticks? Before you go to Amazon or Ebay and pay an astronomical amount of money for a $2 lipstick, check your stash!
I managed to get my hands on all four (Sweet Cream 34422, Sunset Siren 34423, Bordeaux Boulevard 34424, and Urban Night 34425) of the limited edition lipsticks. After getting them home I soon realized that I had very similar colors already in my Wet n’ Wild lipstick collection.
I found Cinnamon Spice 917B, Bare It All 902C, Red Velvet 910D, and Ravin’ Raisin 916D to be very close, and in some cases identical, to the Fall 2014 shades. When swatched on my hand you can see differences in a couple of the lipsticks, but when worn there is barely or no difference in the shades at all. Save yourself some money by purchasing these comparable shades from the permanent line!
All swatches were done on bare skin. Let me know if you would like to see the lipsticks swatched on my lips!
Today I will be reviewing six of the ten lipsticks from the Fergie Centerstage Collection. The six lipsticks that I picked up are: Bebot Love, tan neutral; V.I.Pink, bubble gum pink; Penthouse Sweet, blue toned hot pink; Old School Glam, orangey red; Fuchsianista, dark purple pink with a slight blue shimmer; and Ferguson Crest Cabernet, deep pinkish purple.
I really like the formula of these lipsticks. They are not drying or too glossy. The deeper colors (Old School Glam, Fuchsianista, and Ferguson Crest Cabernet) can stain your skin a little, which I actually prefer in a lipstick because I have longer lasting lip color that way.
